When I exit ArcCatalog it takes about 2 minutes with a "Not responding" message at the top of the app.   What would cause this?   I have the application installed on a SSD drive.  Any ideas how to speed this up?  Thanks

Have you tried clearing the geoprocessing history?

Using the Results window—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop

Viewing tool execution history—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop

A more brute force solution to "clear things out" would be:

Resetting your ArcGIS application profile

which is a good idea every now and then.

Hey thanks that was the problem!   I changed the "Keep results younger than:" value to Never Save.   Now it exits in under a second.
