Features added through collector are placed ~ 50 ft to the east from where they should be. We are adding features through Collector app in iPhone and iPad.

Anyone else experiencing this??

Any ideas??

I haven't seen anyone reporting this. What projection is your data in? Can you send screenshots showing the workflow that can reproduce this issue?

Thanks

We have not had that consistent of an issue but out of 322 points collected we've had 2 not placed correctly.  The first was 1900 m off and the Second was 10,100m off.  Our work flow requires that we capture 10 points 100m apart at each location. In both instances it was the first point in the group that went wonky.

After we had our fist error I instructed the field staff to visually look on the map in collector that their position looks correct before creating a new point.  Despite this we still ended up with a second error.  That said both errors occurred in the first week of collection and its been 4 weeks since we started.

The placement of the point could be off if the GPS is being enabled at a cold start. In our upcoming update there is a setting that will allow you to set the accuracy level required to collect at the device location. So if your GPS has poor accuracy the app will not drop a point until the GPS accuracy improves to the set accuracy value.

What kind of projects are you using the Collector app on?

Projection is Web Mercator.

We are using Collector maps as part of asset management for a Park and Recreation district. We have, for example, a tree collector, a shrub collector, a sign collector, a photo points collector (views of the parks and facilities from different directions), etc. Collector allows us to add photos of assets, update and track condition of plants and trees, update and track condition of benches, trash cans, etc. Our goal is for it to be used by staff in the field to update our asset maps and database ... still in the testing phase for that.

In our upcoming update there is a setting that will allow you to set the accuracy level required to collect at the device location. So if your GPS has poor accuracy the app will not drop a point until the GPS accuracy improves to the set accuracy value.

Sounds like this may solve our issue - most data collection is with iPhone, some with iPad. If update doesn't fix GPS issue, will send screenshoots.

Thanks,
