I created a feature service and can edit on the map in collector, but there is no option to download the map to my device? I may simply be over looking something but I cannot find much documentation. Thanks for any advice on this issue!
You'll need to make the web map available for offline use, which is a setting when you edit its item properties. Of course, the feature layers need to be sync enabled and the basemap you're using needs to be configured for offline use. You can read up on this on Take maps offline—Collector for ArcGIS | ArcGIS
