We have started using Collector and GeoForms in the field with our crews this year. It's been going great but we have some instances where a field worker ends up submitting the same data entry several times. I assume its a situation where they want to make sure it goes through or they get impatient and tap the submit button several times, possibly a connectivity issue. It's hard to catch when this happens unless you look at the data in tabular form because the feature symbols are on top of each other.

Other then more training for the crews does anyone have any best practice or advise for this situation. I imagine this is a  common workflow issue among field crews and data entry.

Thanks so much

Is it at Collector iOS? Not sure if you run into this issue BUG-000124555 (Feature collection in Collector for ArcGIS (iOS) on an unreliable network connection sends multiple of the same attribute if 'Submit' is clicked numerous times before 'In Progress…' appears.) We will look into this issue for next release of Collector iOS.

Yes its on an IOS iPad and the field crew members this is happening to are definitely the type to hit the button multiple times to make sure it go's through
