I need some advice on this problem. When I try to download my map to an ipad with Collector for ArcGIS 10.2.2 installed, It downloads to about 70% of the download status bar and the fails with an error "Invalid Url". What does this mean ?

I have one basemap and one feature service in my map. I created my feature service from Desktop 10.1. I then enabled sync. opened a new map and added the feature service to the map. I then added a tiled world topo basemap and saved. Went back to edit the properties for this map to make it offline. The offline box was already ticked. Made sure the map was shared with the correct group.

I started my collector app on a ipad. I then tried to download the map by selecting a small area (size about 25Mb). The map started to download with no problem to about 70% of the status bar and then popped an error. The error details just said "Invalid Url".

Anyone else with this problem ?

Are you using a hosted feature service?

Thanks

Solved the problem.

This is what I tried and it worked. I does not make sense but it worked.

When I created the new map I used the standard world topo basemap (Topographic:http://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Topo_Map/MapServer). When I tried to edit the properties I could not tick the offline mode box without getting the popup.

Then I went back to the map and changed the basemap to the world topology tiled service (World_Topo_Map_Tiled:http://utility.arcgis.com/usrsvcs/servers/9cad6bd2739944a3be84558eca5a4c4b/rest/services/World_Topo_...). Went back to the map properties and the offline box was already ticked. Then I tried to download the map to the ipad. This is where the "invalid url" came in.

Went back to my map and switched the basemap back to (Topographic:http://services.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/World_Topo_Map/MapServer). In the properties the offline box was still ticked. I then tried to download the map to the ipad and it worked.

Why I am not sure but it worked.
