We are using Dell Latitude 12 Rugged Tablets (7202) with Windows 10 OS. They were rather expensive, and therefore you can imagine the angst when Collector (June release I believe) would not work as expected! Through considerable troubleshooting with Esri support, we determined that services coming from different server sources were the issue. When we (re)published the services on the same server, Collector would operate as expected on the Windows 10 tablets. Esri classified the issue as a bug. I have heard nothing further regarding a bug fix for the issue.
At the past Esri UC, I spoke with a colleague from a DOT agency in a western US state, who uses a large number of Samsung android tablets, wrapped in gumdrop cases. They were affordable and have worked flawlessly with Collector and the other Esri field apps.
