Hello,

How to create 3D building model as LOD1/2 using images from Pictometry Online oblique images? How Pictometry Online oblique images can be used as texture of facades of buildings? Is it mandatory to store the facade textures as images on desktop machine in which CityEngine is installed or any method to access online image and put as texture on the facade of building?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

1] CityEngine is a procedural modeling application. It can not create 3d models based on oblique imagery ( using the pictometry methodology )

2] It's best to use orthogonal fotos, e.g. fotos straight from a facade. The textures can be cropped within CityEngine. CityEngine can not use georeferenced oblique imagery to automatically texture buildings, based on that projection.

3] Yes, the images must be stored on the machine, in the Workspace that CityEngine uses. Basically, the textures need to be in the project. There's no way to use images that are online.

If you need those things, it's probably better to search a vendor of such data ( e.g. CyberCity3D.com ) or a similar software. CityEngine was NOT designed for these tasks.

Ok ?
