I just discovered that the Business Analyst Assistant is unavailable for personal use licenses.
I was watching a replay of the Business Analyst demonstration from the User Conference. The presenter was demonstrating the AI assistant. I was trying to follow along in my ArcGIS Online Business Analyst app. I noticed my AI Assistant was greyed out. I clicked on it, and a pop-up directed me to change my settings. Settings was a dead end. After calling support, I found out the AI Assistant preview was not available to personal use licenses.
I think it would be better for Personal Use and Student license users to have access to AI assistant to help us learn the platform and use ArcGIS Online to its fullest capacity.
I just found out that AI assistants in ArcGIS Online aren't enabled by default and require admin-level access and beta opt-in to activate for all members - there’s no customization based on user type or role, so even power users can’t access the feature unless the entire org enables it. Of course, as you said, they don't even appear on personal accounts! I am very disappointed—That’s a major limitation for something that could really enhance productivity.
