  • Productivity updates
    • ArcGIS Dashboard workflow
    • Curating content from ArcGIS
    • Improved custom data setup

Performance and installation improvements

Development has been completed to reduce memory consumption and improve server stability. By optimizing the number of operations during data enrichment and by performing calculations on streams of data, GeoEnrichment server is more stable and generally faster.

Simplified installation

With the latest release, the installation and upgrade process can be run silently with new command-line interface tools.

Secondly, installing standard infographic templates used to require an additional step of running a script to publish the portal items. Starting with the 10.9.1 update and 2021 U.S data, standard infographic templates will be part of the standard GeoEnrichment server data installation.

Standard ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App licenses

Introduced to ArcGIS Online with the June 2021 release, There are now two versions of ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App licenses: Standard and Advanced. The standard license is designed for project leads who run repeated workflows and visualizations in seconds. The advanced license is designed for market analysts who need to dive deeper into the data in support of ad-hoc analysis. Our vision is to add advanced analytical workflows that are currently limited to the desktop application to the advanced version starting with the 11.0 release in the new year.

2021 U.S. Data update

The latest 10.9.1 version supports the 2021 U.S. data update released in August 2021. Read this blog to find additional details about this latest dataset. Please note that starting with the 2022 data update, classic locators will no longer be supported. The 2021 U.S. data update is also compatible with previous software versions back to 10.7.

Simplified workflows

The Color-Coded MapsSmart Map Search, and Suitability Analysis workflows are simplified—each includes a default variables list that an Administrator in your ArcGIS organization can pre-define for all members to use. If your organization has a common list of variables, you can access these when you sign in, and they can be updated by the Administrator when data needs change.

ArcGIS Dashboard workflow

A dashboard is a view of geographic information that displays multiple visualizations on one screen, allowing you to offer a comprehensive view of your data that supports insightful yet fast decision making. Infographics in the Business Analyst Web App are a way to visualize key indicators for your sites in the form of compelling charts, graphics, tables, images, and text. The ArcGIS Dashboards workflow in the Business Analyst web app allows you to choose a layouts, select sites and infographic templates and create a dashboard.

Curating content from ArcGIS

The Web Maps and Layers workflow allows you to add web maps and layers from ArcGIS and Living Atlas. You can now add multiple web maps or layers at a time from the Web Maps and Layers dialog box.

If you have an Administrator role, under Preferences > Organization > Add Data from ArcGIS, you will now be able to select an ArcGIS Online Group and make its contents available in the Web Maps and Layers dialog box under a custom tab that you name. You can choose to filter this content by the map extent by default. You can also enable and disable the tabs available in the Web Maps and Layers dialog box.

Improved custom data setup

The Custom Data Setup workflow allows you to add your own data or use an accessible feature layer in the Business Analyst Web App. The improvements allow you to search and filter for specific variables, and include an option to add, remove or configure multiple selected variable rows at the same time.

Support for Excel option in infographics export

When you Run Infographics, you can export them in Excel format from the infographic viewer. For HTML format, you now have the option to export the infographic as a static map image instead of the dynamic map. This option can be used to export secured or private maps, but significantly increases the export time.
