The maptip sample at this location http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/silverlight/samples/start.htm#MapTipWidget provides a popup containing attribute data when the state is clicked. This seems to be a built in feature of the maptip control since I can find no code to create it. Is there a way to surpress this action? I am handling the mouse click and attribute data differently and do not want this popup to occur.
Thanks

For that particular example try remove the maptip section, though that would get rid of it entirely.

That would miss the point. I WANT the maptip. I just don't want the larger popup.

You can customize the maptip associated to a graphics layer (sample).
For advanced scenarios, you can also create your own maptip control.
