sampleserver1.arcgisonline.com returning 503s?

We've been observing 503s from sampleserver1.arcgisonline.com for the past few days.  Did we miss a retirement notice?

Hi @TonyGraham , the sampleserver1 thru 5 machines were all retired once earlier this year, but some came back to life for a few months. They are going away for good now. As mentioned in their descriptions:

This is a sample service hosted by ESRI, powered by ArcGIS Server. ESRI reserves the right to change or remove this service at any time and without notice.

Are the samples and services that were hosted there available elsewhere?

Some are, some are not. Most of the JSAPI samples are now using ArcGIS Online hosted data instead of the sampleservers.
