I'm trying to test ArcGIS Map on a machine to see if the program runs well. Is there any type of benchmark or scripted test for that program?
Hi Jason,
Can you clarify if you want a benchmark to ensure the program meets the computer/system requirements to run the software well, or do you want to test the functionality of a workflow?
Test that would test the computer is capable of running the software well. The system i want to test appears to meet or exceed the requirements. However, it was brought back to us with complaints about it ArcMap running too slowly. Is there a quick test that can prove this? Thanks for any help.
Hi Jason,
You can use the following link to ensure your computers meet the system requirements and see if they are lacking, where.
You can also follow some of the troubleshooting steps outlined in the blog post below, though there can be a lot of things affecting performance. I would highly suggest testing performance with data stored over a network vs data stored locally to see if there are any network issues (the most common cause of performance I see). If these do not help, I recommend opening a tech support case to go more in depth with data types and workflows.
Hope this helps!
