Hello,

Has anyone created a custom widget from scratch that uses the FindTask class? Or if anyone has some insight on how go about doing this, that would be helpful as well.

I am not aware of any shared custom widget that uses the FindTask. As far as insight you need to follow the Sample Code

Create a custom in-panel widget—Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS (Developer Edition) | ArcGIS for Developers

To get a basic in-panel widget and then add your UI and code that uses the Find Task to the Widgets.js file.

Thanks for your response and link to the sample code. I have actually gone through that tutorial before and was just wondering if anyone else had done the legwork. But it doesn't seem like that is the case...
