Our company setup a geometric network and it is used mainly for QA/QC purposes and also to facilitate our technicians on their day to day editing tasks but never used it for tracing before. We would like to use the tracing widget on our WAB apps but have a question about our geometric network. Our current data model doesn’t break pipes at valve locations and we were wondering if this is a requirement for the tracing widget.

Do we need to split pipes at valve locations to be able to run the Network Tracing widget?

Thanks

Maria

You can have the mains break at the valve location, but it is not a requirement.

The trace tool uses a Yes/No 1/0 field to indicate which valves to shut in an emergency.

Rick
