    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Dear all&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Previously, my plant was using floating aerators for aeration.&amp;nbsp; The results were satisfactory.&amp;nbsp; However, as a cost saving initiative, those aerators were replaced with fine bubble diffusers which were claimed to consume less energy than the aerators.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;The air is provided by two blowers with each 45 kW and 30 m3 per min air flow capacity.&amp;nbsp; The air is however very hot, measured at least 84 deg.C in the supply pipe.&amp;nbsp; You cannot touch the pipes, they are very hot.&amp;nbsp; If you pour water on the pipe, some steam will form.&amp;nbsp; The results of the treatment are bad, with few parameters were off target, not like those results when using aerators.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;We are planning to reuse the aerators to improve the results, or install an aftercooler to cool down the air.&amp;nbsp; I suspect that hot air is the culprit.&amp;nbsp; My questions are:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;1.&amp;nbsp; Can hot air kills bacteria in the water?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;2.&amp;nbsp; Does hot air provides less oxygen?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Thanks and best regards.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
