It was not an existing dataset issue, so no idea what was wrong.

In the last couple of weeks there has been an update to ArcGIS Pro ( and a separate update to ArcHydro. Something within the updates seems to have fixed whatever the problem was.

Attempting to run the Construct Depression Hierachy and get an error I do not understand. Have tried using a raw DEM and a smoothed DEM from the Smooth Depression DEM tool, results in same error.

Using the latest ArcHydro version 2.9.27 with ArcGIS Pro 2.9.2. I think the Python environment is ok but not much to go by to know for certain.

The only error message is:

('line 426', 'c:\\program files\\arcgis\\pro\\Resources\\ArcToolbox\\Scripts\\ArcHydro\\constructdepressionhierarchy.py', "AttributeError: 'GPEnvironment' object has no attribute 'outwriteOutput'")

It looks like that error message means the dataset already exists there and your geoprocessing environment setting doesn't have an attribute that looks like a typo of "overwriteOutput"
