We just moved to a new ftp server system:

https://mft.esri.com

Login: ADSRiverHydraulics
Password: ADSRiver.2012

Note that the password will be reset every 6 months or so.

To access, select a FTP client:

1. Web Client
   Site link: https://mft.esri.com
   (Video tutorials available on the main page, prior to log in)

2. Third party SFTP client
   ** Download a preconfigured client
https://mft.esri.com/EFTClient/Account/mft.zip **

3. FTP address to configure a third party SFTP client of your choice:
   Site address: mft.esri.com
   Port: 22

New site seems functional if a little slow compared to direct ftp. A little confusing that the Water Resources community materials are in the "incomming" directory. But I guess that is an aspect of a hosted sftp service.

If you are looking for a version of Arc Hydro, you don't have to get it from the ESRI ftp. You can go to the Corps of Engineer's software download pages and download HEC-GeoHMS or HEC-GeoRAS and get the version of Arc Hydro that works with your version of Arc Map. http://www.hec.usace.army.mil/software/

Hmm, not sure I'd agree with that. And, what would you suggest for ArcGIS 10.1 users?

Also, for ArcHydro Tools, the ftp site (now a hosted sftp service) has been the preferred way to obtain and test patched versions of the tools. The Water Resources team at Esri appreciates it if you are working with current builds of the packages when you make bug reports and will refer you to the current release if you are having issues.

You are right that the HEC download does not provide for 10.1 version. I'm a 10.0 user for now so hadn't noticed that.
For the other versions, at least for 10.0, Arc Hydro, APFramework, etc. are all part of the installation package.

Yes, but only for GeoHMS, the GeoRAS installer does not install an ArcHydro Tools instance.

And for GeoMHS, my suggestion for folks has been to remove all the Water Resources applications. Then use the HEC package installer (either from the HEC site, which they hold in configuration control for their users, or from the Community ftp site which provides patched "beta" versions) and then to remove ArcHydro Tools and install the latest ArcHydro version from the community ftp server.

ArcHydro has always been best supported from the community ftp site.

I have been unable to gain access using this information. The Web Client goes nowhere after entering login/password and filezilla times out using the info below.

Tim,

Yes it is working. For FileZilla you need to set your transfer protocol to SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol, and logon type to Normal. Best done from the FileZilla File -> Site Manager panel as a new site. OK will save configuration. Then Connect to run it.

If using the Web client be sure JavaScript is enabled for the site, and for more efficient downloading check the box to use the Java Applet which provides a GUI based download.

Hi Stuart,

Thanks for your reply. I tried your method in FileZilla and also retried the Web Client making sure it was using Java but I suspect that it is must be a problem at my end. Our proxy server seems to allow normal ftp through but not SFTP. I will take it up with our IT provider (or probably just download the latest ArcHydro at home - it seems to be less hassle).

Does it behave if from the FileZilla Site Manager you set the port to 22 for the SSH service being used in the sftp connection? It may be incorrectly trying just port 443--since the url is https:
