cut a roadway between two other intersecting roadways

Hi everyone,

I mainly use ArcGIS working with highways and roadways. I need to select and cut a segment of a roadway between two other intersecting roadways, and export it as another layer: as the picture shows, like for example the segment of I-495 btw I-270 and I-95. The way that I do it now, is that I create a polygon shapefile, and then use it along with Clip tool to crop that part of the roadway, which actually is kind of time consuming. I was wondering if there is any other quick way to do that. I greatly appreciate your help.
