    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;If you like scripts you might try &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=16233"&gt;this one&lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;.&amp;nbsp; Without scripts, here's how I'd do it.&amp;nbsp; It's not totally straightforward but it should get you there.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Are your roads segmented at intersections?&amp;nbsp; If not, &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/9173-splitting-lines-at-intersection-for-entire-shapefile"&gt;this thread&lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; has instructions.&amp;nbsp; There's a Feature to Point tool under Data Management Tools which can place points at line ends.&amp;nbsp; For a 4-way intersection that would make four points, and you'd get points at dead ends like cul-de-sacs.&amp;nbsp; To clean it up I'd do a spatial join with a sum option (the join requires two layers so I'd make two copies of the same points layer).&amp;nbsp; That will create an attribute field showing how many points are at a given location.&amp;nbsp; Delete any that say 1, those are your dead ends.&amp;nbsp; Then do a Dissolve which will merge all those other groups of 2, 3, and 4 points into a single point at each location.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
