topic PLSS parcel types in State & Local Government Questions

In our county we have PLSS resurveys which created tracts that represent the original PLSS patents when the resurvey was done. There are only 3 types in the parcel fabric for the PLSS. None of these are for tracts. Can additional types be added and used with the PLSS fabric or is this not supported? I am still researching the parcel fabric process to see if my county will want to start implementing it.
Also, is it required to have the PLSS represented in the parcel fabric or can we just use the tax parcels, subdivisions, lots, etc?

Thanks,
David

You can extend the data model to include more parcel types as well as tweak the domains for your needs. Use caution that if you delete one parcel type to not reuse the number (IE Tax Parcel = 7) for another parcel type. Also, if you are looking into the Local Government Information Model, you'll want to check out the Tax Parcel Editing Template to see how to use definition queries to symbolize the various parcel types separately (IE PLSS).

http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=86027c6c0bd742928a43af789b675947
