Attribute Assistant questions

I am hoping the attribute assistant will help us with a auto sequence field (AssetID) in our utility features.

A few questions though;

1. I downloaded the package, and followed the instructions to install the Attribute Assistant. I get a window pop up that says installation was successful. Yet, when I go to add the toolbar it is not available (ArcGIS 10.1).
Of note - I am not an admin on the PC, and most of our users are not admin level either (controlled by IT). During the installation are there some registry keys or other admin level function that happen that I need permissions on?

2. In our auto-sequence (AssetID) field we need it to be alpha-numeric (FireHydrant = FH000100, SewerManhole = SMH000100, etc...) Is there a way to set up rules to that effec in the dynamic value table or the generate ID table?

1: What add in's did you install? Do they show up in the Add In Manager? Can you verify you do not have an Attribute Assistant Toolbar? I would log a tech support call, they are best suited for trouble shooting install issues.

2: Yes, the Generate ID function does what you are looking for, here is the link to the help.

Mike - Thank you for that response

1. I attempted to install both the network and attributeAssistant. Neither shows up in the add-in manager or in the toolbar selection in the customize section. Even though both install's say installed successfully.
Side-note - I do have access to the install user, when I log-in as Install the add-ins do install fully. I can see the toolbar and the availability in the add-in manager.
But the same process does not work for a general user - and I need for this to work in our utility office. The AssetID needs to be sequential and unique to tie back to the asset management software.
I will open a HelpDesk ticket with our IT office, but I may also send a note to Esri technical support.

2. Your comments confirms one of the options I was looking at, I just need to find some better examples and I may have done that with an image I found in the Attribute Assistant source folder. Also I may better understand how the tables work/interact with the GIS features once I get the tool to work and I can see it in action.
