If you mean "directly between", can you draw a line (Points to Lines tool) between the point of interest and each house, and then intersect that line with the households feature class? That would tell you how many (if any) of the houses were exactly in line. You could make this a little "fuzzier" by buffering each of the households by a small amount (say 10m) and then doing the above.
