OLS regression tool help Arc Map 9.3

Hello,

I need some assistance with using the OLS regression tool in ArcMap 9.3.

1) I created a shape file from an excel file with XY coordinates using Arc Catalog.

2) I opened the table in arc map and added a unique field ID (=FID+1), using the field calculator.

When I select the shape file in the OLS tool window I get a red X in the upper left corner of the first field. I am assuming the red X means there is a problem with the shape file. If I move through the rest of the fields in the tool and click the ok or run button I get an error message with no text.

Is the shape file created correctly? Is the unique field ID created correctly?

I have attached a sample of my excel data set for anyone to test.

Any help is much appreciated.

P.S. the original data set has 10,000 observations and 80 variables.

Hi Ken,

I'm very sorry you're having trouble running OLS. Would it be possible to provide the shapefile you're using, rather than the excel spreadsheet, so that we can try to reproduce the problem?
