Is there a possibility to split a polygon in the middle?

Maybe calculate centroid and then create a split line throught that point?

Or maybe a comparable function like split polygon in the polytool for arcview 3?

In an edit session you can do that easily.

I presume that you have more than one to split, and there are no existing tools in the Editing Toolbox that will do this (for reference

Have you examined the ET Geowizards etc tools at

http://www.ian-ko.com/ There are often tools there that will be useful.

If you need to split by a particular parameter, such as equal area, there are advanced tools in arcmap and on the web. For instance

So given your requirements, your options are pretty well up in the air.

Parcel division would be the right answer, unfortunately I have version 10.1 🙂

check for it, it requires a standard or advanced licence not basic. I thought it had been around for a while. The help link I sent is for 10.3 since there have been issues with the pre 10.3 help files
