Puzzled here....I can get this to work if I reference the point that is in a Feature Class but&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I cannot get it to work with the result from my Geocoded address and resulting XY&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;My original address that is geocoded is WGS84 I convert that to UTM Nad83 Zone 17N (26917)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The state State layer is stored in UTM Nad83 Zone17N (26917) Meters&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The input from the parameters is Miles and I am converting that distance to Meters.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I know the distance thing is working because I can test that against a Point that is outside the state in a Feature Class and increase that distance and it eventually finds it...&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any thoughts as to why the Geocoded result is not being found...I am converting this to the Appropriate Spatial Reference.....ugggggg&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This Does NOT work&lt;/P&gt;&lt;PRE class="lia-code-sample line-numbers language-none"&gt;&lt;CODE&gt;    &lt;SPAN class="comment token"&gt;## CONVERT MILE TO METERS FOR SPATIAL BUFFER&lt;/SPAN&gt;

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Another approach...&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The &lt;A href="https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/tools/analysis-toolbox/spatial-join.htm" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"&gt;Spatial Join (Analysis)&lt;/A&gt; will compute distances in certain cases.&amp;nbsp; As a test, a Virginia layer (containing only one feature - an outline of the state in UTM Zone 17N) was opened in Desktop 10.5.&amp;nbsp; I geocoded the two addresses previously used with some others that lie in and outside the state.&amp;nbsp; I pasted code into the Python window, ran the spatial join and had the following results:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;IMG alt="" class="jive-emoji image-1 jive-image j-img-original" src="https://community.esri.com/legacyfs/online/506553_jay.png" /&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The DistanceTo field was generated by the spatial join.&amp;nbsp; A distance of 0 indicates the point is inside the state.&amp;nbsp; If it lies outside, a&amp;nbsp; distance in meters is calculated.&amp;nbsp; This distance can be compared to the buffer in the Distance field.&amp;nbsp; If the DistanceTo is less than the Distance buffer, the point is within the buffer.&amp;nbsp; A select layer by attribute can use this in a where clause.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Here's the test code, which may need modification depending on your settings or if run outside ArcMap.       <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;As Blake suggests,&amp;nbsp;since you have a mix of geometry origins (json, arcpy), and your query is essentially simple, it makes less sense now to be creating a bunch of featureclasses and/or featurelayers.&amp;nbsp; Just get the geometry at its root (that is, arcpy geometry objects) and do the check.&amp;nbsp; You basically need a boolean... if True, then do something, if False, move on&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
