Pre-built binary installers for Python 2.5 and PyWin32 are on the ArcGIS install media.

Poke around, you'll find both.

Stuart

I am running into errors:

Building pywin32 2.5.214.0
running install
running build
running build_py
running build_ext
error: Python was built with Visual Studio 2003;
extensions must be built with a compiler than can generate compatible binaries.
Visual Studio 2003 was not found on this system. If you have Cygwin installed,
you can try compiling with MingW32, by passing "-c mingw32" to setup.py.

I have installed from MSDN Visual Studio Ultimate 10, and the current version of Cygwin which does not seem to recognize "-c mingw32".

I am only going to Python for Windows as Esri says it is more compatible than other editors in knowing ESRIs Python tools. I have been using IDLE and Notepad++.

Thanks for your help.

Rob

Now I did stick the CD in last night, as they were mentioning that, the install CD does not let me view the CD itself, only a form of what I can install. Is there a source of precompiled binaries on the web, Sourceforge even mentions them, but the package wants to compile it.
