    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hello, &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Does anyone know if there is a way to clip a selected feature in a feature class and discard the intersecting area of that feature and any underlying features, using Python? &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I am trying to replicate the same functionality available in an editing session, using the clip tool in the edit toolbar drop down, using a Python script. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Dave&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I think you're looking for the Erase tool. You may not need a Python script to do this. This tool does require and ArcInfo license.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
