    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;I don''t think there is a way to create a historic version programatically, at least not that I see.&amp;nbsp; I see you can use &lt;A class="link-titled" href="http://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/tool-reference/data-management/changeversion.htm" title="http://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/tool-reference/data-management/changeversion.htm"&gt;Change Version—Data Management toolbox | ArcGIS Desktop&lt;/A&gt; with version_type "HISTORICAL" and thru the dialog as mentioned in the help, which is why I don';t think it is possible to create on programatically at this time.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;BLOCKQUOTE class="jive_macro_quote jive-quote jive_text_macro"&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Once you have created a historical marker,&lt;/STRONG&gt; it becomes available within the &lt;SPAN class=""&gt;Geodatabase Connection Properties&lt;/SPAN&gt; dialog box in the Catalog window and the &lt;SPAN class=""&gt;Change Version&lt;/SPAN&gt; and &lt;A class="" href="http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.3/manage-data/geodatabases/working-with-the-geodatabase-history-viewer.htm"&gt;Geodatabase History Viewer&lt;/A&gt; dialog boxes in ArcMap.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BLOCKQUOTE&gt;&lt;P&gt;It may be something you need to put in as an &lt;A href="https://community.esri.com/space/2167"&gt;ArcGIS Ideas&lt;/A&gt;‌&amp;nbsp; and report back here so people can vote it up.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;DIV class=""&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am looking for a way to create an &lt;A href="http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/10.3/manage-data/geodatabases/working-with-historical-markers.htm" rel="nofollow noreferrer"&gt;Historical Marker&lt;/A&gt; programmatically with arcpy.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The archiving is enabled on a dataset in Oracle SDE.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I think, it's related with &lt;A href="http://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/tool-reference/data-management/an-overview-of-the-versions-toolset.htm" rel="nofollow noreferrer"&gt;arcpy Version Toolset&lt;/A&gt;, but I can't find the documentation about this.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thank you,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Maxime&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
