Have you got verbose/debug logging enabled? What gives you the thought of it being the Data Interop extension? It would need to be licensed on the Server if it's used in some capacity, but would have hoped it was caught in publishing validation.

Custom Print tool failing - Data Interoperability issue?

Forgive my lack of familiarity with the Data Interoperability extension, but I'm wondering if its expiration at my org. is causing issues with the custom print tool I published to our portal.

I'm using ArcPro 3.3.0 and publishing to Enterprise 11.3.0 following the steps outlined here.

When I plug in the print service URL to our Utility Services settings, the layouts populate as they should, but when I attempt to print, I get a generic "an error occurred while exporting the web map". In our server logs, it says, "failed to create layer from service at (insert feature service link here)" for all of the layers in the web map I am trying to print.

Does the Data Interoperability extension have anything to do with custom print services? I didn't think it did, but I'm not sure what else the issue could be.

@dolson_farmington

"failed to create layer from service at (insert feature service link here)"

Tt usually happens when your print service can't access the service maybe due to firewall or something.

This is what I'd do:

remote desktop (or physically log on) into the machine that hosts the print service

use the ArcGIS Server Account user credentials to log in

open a web browser

try to access the service that print service threw an error for

if it fails there, then you need to check with your IT folks to open things up.

Please note, print service needs to access services, exactly they way you need to have access to while using them in a web app.

Please see this part of a tech session on print service and it might help you understand how print service works.

I hope you will find this helpful

https://youtu.be/TUHg7rgTRn4?si=J89woC8_4-Ftst-F&t=447
