AutoCAD Stationing in ArcMap

I'm using ArcMap 10.3 Standard. I was given 2 point shapefiles of AutoCAD Stationing. 1 is of the accrual tick marks the other one is the text for the tick marks. This is what I did converted the tick points (marks) to a line then I tried to somehow set the tick points to lines that follow the polyline standing up. Which didn't work. I tried using ET GeoTools to create stationing which is exactly what I needed but that tool does not tack into consideration the PI’s, it just puts a point say every 100 feet. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Thanks in advanced.

What exactly is a "PI" and what affect does it have on the stationing?

A PI is were the pipeline bends. So at every bend it need a point even if it is not 100 feet from the last point.

Do you need the Stationing to reset at each bend? In other words if a polyline travels 87 feet then makes a 90 degree turn, you want a 87' station mark there, then the next segment starts at zero feet and continues upwards until it hits a bend? If this is the case, one can employ the Split line at Vertices (Data Management) geoprocessing tool to break up the line into segments, then redo the Stationing for each segment. Note that there may be a need to recombine some segments after running this tool if there are vertices on straight portions.

Another workaround/idea when using ET Geowizards stationing - make station points at a smaller interval then what is really needed and then weed out the station points you don't need. For example, do 1-foot intervals, then select and delete the unneeded ones. If I recall correctly there is an attribute created with the stationing which has the distance (ET_ID?), which aids in sorting it down.

What do you mean the polyline standing up also?

Do you just need points at the bends of the lines? I'm quite confused by your question. Can you send screen shots of what you mean?
