Merging 1:10000 maps without boundry lines

Hi,

I have several 1:10000 digital maps where i need to merge them into a single layer to create a larger map. However once the merge operation is done, it is necessary to remove the boundary lines in between the two layers (as shown in figure 1,2 and 3)

These boundary lines are part of each polygon (at boundary points) but wondering if there is a way to remove them with a simple operation (dissolve seems not working).

sometimes editing and merging the seams is necessary depending upon the source of the data. Don't assume that there aren't gaps along the join boundary unless you have checked. You may need to start with

Integrate—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop and see if that moves you forward. Then Aggregate Polygons—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop which requires an Advanced license

Select the features you want (select by attribute) and export as a new layer. configure boundary lines as desired.
