Modelbuilder Clip By Sequences/Order

Hi All,

I have a shapefiles that contains multiple polygons.

For each polygon, there is a order number under "Sequence" field. Nothing too complicated, just 1,2,3,..... etc

Is there a way to clip those layers based on order number using modelbuilder?

For instance, Polygon 1 clip out polygon 2, polygon 2 clip out polygon 3, polygon 3 clip out polygon 4, if polygon 5 stays by itself and do not overlap anything, then it will be by itseft.

why dont you use the overlay tools and then pick out the pieces you need from the result.

For example

Intersect—Help | Documentation

then find the shapes that match your condition

Thanks for your suggestion.

I've tried that method and seems like it only extract those that overlaps.

I need to find a way to somehow merge back with the original based on order ID.

Previously i had to select each and then clip based on the order ID.

Now just need to automated this process for large datasets.
