Are you adding the join in ArcMap interactively using the menu, and using the Add Join tool in the model? My guess is you don't have the Add Join tool parameters set the same as your interactive join. Joins should work the same either way. I suggest using the Add Join tool interactively in ArcMap, and play with the parameters to get the result you want in Model Builder.

I am working with address points and permits for solar panels. My address points are a File Geodatabase Feature Class and my solar panel permits are a standalone table WITH object ID's. When I join (not through model builder) I can get the solar panel table to join into the address ID's feature class thus showing me the address points that have solar power. When I do this process through model builder it does not do this. I am using the address ID's as my unique ID. Is there a better way to do this process, this will be repeated rather frequently which is why I am making a model for this.
