The first time I saw the file type was in a python error message after iterating through mxd's in a folder. It appears the .mxr files was created by python for each .mxd in the folder. This happened when I exported the mxd's map to jpeg in 10.5.1. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
