Model runnng in model window

I have a very basic model where I am clipping data out of a fgdb using an AOI polygon.

The model runs in the model window but not from the user interface(right click on model in toolbox-0pen)

any ideas?

Are you getting an error message? Does the model have parameters?

no error message. it just stops running. I have 3 parameters set up in the model. Input data, Output folder, and AOI shapefile location.

arc map on this PC was recently re-installed. could there be something missing from the installation that is not allowing the model to run from the paramerterised interface

It would help to see the model and the messages that you are getting before it stops.

I would disable background processing (Geoprocessing > Options. uncheck Enable background processing). It is possible the model tool is running, just in the background so it doesn't look like it is running.
