Full ESRI metadata schema/superset (all elements!)

Hi all,

A couple of years ago someone shared with me a spreadsheet describing every metadata element in the ArcGIS schema/format (in the "superset"). The spreadsheet was from 2021. Has there been a change in the schema since, or is the schema from 2021 still current? And where does ESRI maintain the documentation for the full metadata schema?

We're creating scripted metadata and our developers need guidance, as do the metadata librarians asking them to create scripts to write metadata in bulk. It would help if we didn't have to guess and prod in the dark until we finally understand the internal structure of where ArcGIS saves which bits of metadata. As it is now, we've experienced ESRI products as a metadata black box full of surprises! Just what every data migration project needs 🙂

Many thanks!

Alicia

edited to add links to members @JordanDuft @Jill_Saligoe-Simmel 🙂
