Congratulations on the promotion and welcome to Esri Community, Albert! I'm glad to hear you made it to Esri User Conference this year—it's an incredible starting point for your GIS journey and a great place to start building your network.

I'm sharing two posts that may be particularly useful to you: One includes conversation and advice on being an ArcGIS Enterprise Administrator from other members of this Community and the second lists Esri instructor-led trainings aligned with your new role—

Tips for a New ArcGIS Enterprise Administrator

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself.

My name is Albert, and I was recently promoted to Systems Administrator. I have 20 years of IT experience, primarily in Help Desk, and in my new role my responsibilities will include building a new ArcGIS Enterprise environment from the ground up.

I'm brand new to the world of GIS and recently attended the Esri User Conference in San Diego, where I got to see just how broad the impact of GIS really is.

I learned so much during those few days, but I know with complete certainty that I've only scratched the surface.

I'm looking forward to expanding my skills and learning the ins and outs of ArcGIS Enterprise.

If anyone has made a similar transition into GIS, I'd love to hear about your experience or any advice you'd be willing to share.

For now, I'll be doing a lot of reading, exploring the community, and preparing for some instructor-led online courses.

If you have any tips for a new ArcGIS Enterprise administrator, I'd love to hear them. Whether it's best practices, lessons learned, or quirks you've encountered over the years, I'm eager to learn from those with more experience.

Thanks, and I'm looking forward to being part of the community!
