Hi Samuel,
Welcome to the Esri Young Professionals Network! It’s great to see your background in geomatic engineering paired with your recent M.S. in GIS—especially with a focus on NG9-1-1 and indoor mapping. That’s such an important space where GIS can make a real, immediate impact on public safety.

Your experience across surveying, infrastructure mapping, and spatial analysis appears to be a strong foundation for tackling emergency response challenges. I’d be especially interested to hear more about your work with indoor mapping—it's an area that’s gaining a lot of traction.

Looking forward to learning from your insights and seeing your contributions in the community!

Hello everyone,

My name is Samuel Dadson, and I’m excited to be part of the Esri Young Professionals Network.

I recently completed my M.S. in Geographic Information Science and Cartography at Western Illinois University, and I currently work as a GIS Technician at the GIS Center. My work focuses on public safety applications of GIS, particularly supporting NG9-1-1 and indoor mapping for emergency preparedness.

I have a background in geomatic engineering and have worked on projects involving surveying, infrastructure mapping, and spatial data analysis. I’m especially interested in how GIS can be applied to improve emergency response systems and support decision-making in critical situations.

I’m looking forward to connecting with others, learning from the community, and contributing where I can.

Thanks!
