Why not? the primary issue is to show the page size the layout was produced at against the reference scale so when the map is then exported and printed a different page size, the user would know the scale is not correct, ie printing an A4 Map to A3 size.

Is there a way to make page size text in a layout dynamic? Eg 1:200,000 @A4 changes to 1:200,000 @A3 automatically if the page size is changed to A3 in the page settings? Currently it has to be done manually and is sometimes forgotten. It'd be useful if it could be automated.

Cheers.

No, there is no dynamic text for page size. But scale text should update to show the current scale at whatever page size.
