ArcGIS 10.1 to Illustrator CS5. Text Tweaker was suggested but didn't fix the problem in Illustrator. </SPAN><BR /><SPAN>Very frustrating! I have a map with LOTS of text. Exporting or printing to a pdf, then opening the pdf in Illustrator and saving as an ai file seems to work, but I am concerned there are problems I can't see due to the complexity of the map.
