ArcMap gets stuck when adding a basemap

I have ArcGIS Desktop 10.6.1, with ArcMap 10.6.1.9270. When adding a basemap from the tool Add data, the software gets stuck. It keeps processing and it doesn't allow me to do anything else. This is been happening for several times and every time I have to force quit.

Please, I need some support and I will appreciate any help.

Clear the Display Cache: http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/map/working-with-arcmap/managing-your-local-display-cache.htm
