I created a model that I have been using for about 1.5 years. Recently after installing SP5 I find that sometimes when I feed a set of points into the model I get error 99999. After I exit out of the error window the layer in the TOC that I was running the model on gets a the red !. When I check arccatalog I see the layer is still in the file geodatabase and I have to repair the layer then try again. Sometimes I will have to export the layer and rename it to get it to work.

Anyone have any suggestions?
