I have two situations

1. I'm mapping transmission line circuits made up of spans and its important that each transmission line circuit is labeled at least once. Most circuits may be hundreds of spans but some might be 3 or 4 spans. Is there a way to guarantee each circuit is labeled at least once without over labeling the longer circuits?

2. Also displayed in these maps are separate point features Generation Plants and Substations, both labeled by name. Generally, but not always, if a Substation is next to a Generation Plant it has the same name so it stands to reason it only the Generation Plant needs to be labeled. Currently I've used label classes and manually removed the substations in question, but is there an automated way to do this such as having one feature search for duplicate names from another feature?
