Hi all,

I have a Slope ratser (xyz data) of a big area. I need to export just a small part of this area in order to send to a client the xyz data just for the selected area. How can I achieve this?

I have ArcGIS 10.2 and just SA extention tool.

Many thanks

Francesca

Hi Jake,

many thanks for your reply. I knew already about the clipping but do not know why when I try to input my features it doesn't recognize the raster format but just shapefile..so it is not possible to browse the raster and to clip it to lets's say a polygon.

Any suggestion?

I have tried to export it with right click exprt data- but then I can save it in tiff and other format and I d not know whether this will allow the client to see the xyz data and to work with them if needed.

I Cannot send to them the whole raster due to some private data and similar things.

Cheers,

Francesca

A possible source of confusion - there are 3 Clip tools in ArcMap:

The one Jake Skinner suggested (Clip - Analysis toolbox) is the one to use - it does raster.

The more commonly used Clip tool (Clip - Data Management toolbox) is for vector data, so that may be the source of confusion.

Then there is a Clip tool for Coverages (Clip - Coverages toolbox).

Chris Donohue, GISP
