The selection made with the Select Tool cannot be saved in a map via the Save Tool

Hello,

I encountered an issue in LocalMaps 2.3 where selections made with the Select Tool do not appear in the saved map after using the Save Tool. I would like to know if it will be available in LocalMaps 3.1. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to test this functionality on LocalMaps 3.1 Beta, as none of the maps in the New LocalMaps Gallery (beta) include the Select Tool.

In addition, it would be helpful if users could decide whether to include invisible layers, drawing/measurement annotations, and selections in the saved map before saving. This would give more control over what is preserved in the saved map.

Also, I’d like to know if it’s possible to set "Select by point" as the default option when the Select Tool is activated, as it is used more often than the other options.

Hi SWDC LocalMaper(s), we reengineered the map and select widget in v3 which utilized the URL hash param to handle a lot of map loading and dataset selection logic. From the technical point of view it's possible

/?webmap=4ae121032b6b48018a7645c9b1d659f2#data_s=geometry%3A4ae121032b6b48018a7645c9b1d659f2-OpenData3_3543%3A%7B%22spatialReference.... and so on
(that also mean you can copy or share this URL with other and they will be able to open the map with same selection)

As we aim for parity for the coming release and schema change(on saved object) as such will increase risk for migration, though its an excellent idea (I did think about the same thing when I'm working on it !) We will definitely consider adding this functionality to save widget in the near future
