topic changing vertical coordinate system in LIDAR Resources Questions

Hello,

I am using ArcGIS Desktop 10.2.2. Has anyone has success in reprojecting the vertical coordinate system of LAS files using the ArcToolbox LAS to LAS tool? The input LAS files had PRJ files created for them, with the correct horizontal and vertical coordinate system. The horizontal reprojection works fine but the vertical coordinates remain the same. I am trying to go from NAVD 1988 meters to NAVD 1988 feet. Really it is just a conversion of units.

Thank you for any help,

Paul Lohr

Paul

My apologies that this has not been answered. Have you found a solution?

As you found, "LAS to LAS" will reproject in XY but not Z. We are working on changes but as of today we don't reproject Z values in points.

If you can work with a bare earth digital terrain model (DTM) and first return digital surface model (DSM), it's easy to rescale those from meters to feet...

Let me know if you need more info

Thanks
Cody B.
