New EQuIP Call to Action Seeks 9-12 High-Quality Materials Aligned to the Common Core

To build upon the success of our K-8 Call to Action, we are excited to announce the launch of a new Call to Action for high school materials. Achieve is looking for educators and developers to submit high-quality units aligned to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) that address specific 9-12 high-priority standards identified by a panel of content experts and educators. Achieve launched this effort with Student Achievement Partners to strengthen resources to meet teachers' needs to implement the CCSS.

Through Achieve's Educators Evaluating the Quality of Instructional Products (EQuIP) initiative, units will be evaluated for quality and alignment to the specified standards by a panel of peer reviewers representing more than 1,000 years of teaching expertise.

Developers of units submitted through this process and identified as Exemplars by the EQuIP quality review process will receive an award of $1,500 as well as wide dissemination and recognition of their efforts. All Exemplar units will be made freely available for download and use by educators across the country.

The submission process is open to everyone. The developers of successful submissions will possess deep understanding of the instructional shifts found in the CCSS, instructional materials development experience, and content area expertise. Please share the Call to Action with any districts, schools, organizations, or educators you think would be interested in submitting their CCSS-aligned instructional materials.

Interested individuals, teams, or organizations must register and submit materials online at http://lessons.achieve.org. There will be two review cycles through which prizes will be awarded; the first deadline for submitting units is October 26, 2015 and the second is January 20, 2016.
