topic Problem with collector/hotspot/vpn/db connection dropping out between manhole data collection in Implementing ArcGIS Questions

We are out collecting data everything is good. Sometimes (too often) we get the spinning wheel of death. It appears our vpn stays connected, at lease it says connected.

We are using a Toughbook FZ-B2 android tablet with a Netgear Nighthawk hotspot through a SonicWall vpn to our enterprise database. My plan is to swap the ToughBook for a Galaxy Tab to see problem persist, if so, swap out the hotspot to another model.

We have two of each ToughBook and Netgear, and even swapping around those the problem persist.

What other million things should I look for, settings? equipment? software? method? workflow?

BTW we are using an R2 for precision.

Thanks, Phil.
