Regarding your first question, no, the ArcGIS Server installers do not install ArcGIS Desktop. Regarding your second question, to the best of my knowledge, an ArcGIS Server license only covers ArcGIS Server and does not include ArcGIS Desktop. Regarding your third question, no, Portal for ArcGIS uses a Named-User licensing model that is different from ArcGIS Server licensing of cores, etc.... You need separate authorization files for ArcGIS Server roles and Portal.

I am trying to upgrade to ArcGIS for Server 10.7 and I am wondering when installing 10.7 if it automatically also installs a copy of ArcGIS Desktop Standard, which I believe comes with the purchase of a GIS Server, or will I have to do a separate install of ArcGIS Desktop Standard on the Server machine? Additionally, will the authorization file for ArcGIS for Server also work for Portal for ArcGIS, or will I have to procure a separate authorization file for Portal for ArcGIS?

Thank you my GIS friends.

Abi
