topic automatic generation of transects in Geoprocessing Questions

Is there a way to automatically make transects say spaced every x feet apart for a project area? the best i have came up with is to make a line then in editor use the copy parallel function with the offest being the distance between the transects, but this can get time consuming, is there a tool or script that can do this for me.

Thanks

BearingDistanceToLine could do that.
You can input a .csv, table, or a point fc with the start points, the bearing (clockwise from north), and the length of the line.
It is in the Data management > Features tool box
